ADD TO GOODREADS:
USA TODAY bestselling author Alexa Riley's first full-length novel shows just what happens when a strong, possessive man finds the woman of his dreams.
I'll never forget the way she looked, so confident and sure of herself. I watched her from a distance. She wasn't ready for me yet. I didn't approach her and I didn't disturb her, but I never once took my eyes off her.
Mallory Sullivan is ready to start her new life. After graduating at the top of her class, she's landed one of the most coveted internships in the United States. Hard work and determination have gotten her to this moment of living the life she only dreamed of while growing up in foster care.
From the start, I knew that she would be my greatest achievement, so the day I let her go, I set down a path for her. A path to me.
She never expected Oz to be the greatest culmination of those dreams. But sometimes fate determines who you fall in love with. Who makes you lose control. Who owns your soul.
And then you realize it wasn't fate at all…
I've wanted to care for and protect her since the first moment I saw her. I've constructed everything in our lives so that at the perfect moment, I could have her, could give her the life she deserves.
The time has come.

In the hands of less skilled authors, the tale of Miles Osbourne’s obsessive pursuit of Mallory Sullivan could have come across as stalkery and more than a wee bit creepy. Instead, the talented Alexa Riley provides readers with an engaging and touching story of a man who falls in love at first sight and assures that his ladylove has the tools to live her life to its fullest potential. Struck by Mallory’s intelligence and quiet confidence, Miles’ life was forever changed when observed her evisceration of her opponents at a math competition where he was a student judge.
“Until the day I saw her, there was no color. But once my eyes landed on her for the first time, it was like when Dorothy landed in Oz and she opened the door. The world went Technicolor, and she was my very own Glinda the Good Witch.” Excerpt From: Alexa Riley. “Everything for Her.”
Aware of her potential, Miles anonymously follows Mallory’s college career, waiting for the day she is ready for him and all he has to offer. Having grown up in the foster care system, Mallory is initially overwhelmed (rightfully so!) by the depth of interest and devotion shown by the man she initally knows as ‘Oz’. No one had ever made her feel so cherished and important before. Despite a rocky beginning, she learns to trust in their love. Experiencing the story from both Miles and Mallory’s points of view provides a vulnerability and understanding that goes a long way in making this story infinitely more relatable. Both characters come across stronger because we are able to see their weaknesses. Fleshed-out secondary characters serve to enhance the main storyline and add anticipation for further series installments. [Yay Paige and ‘Captain America’!] Mile’s did Everything for Her, but it’s what Mallory does with the love and opportunities he provides that make the story.
Q&A with Alexa Riley
Did you have any specific inspiration for Everything for Her (a song, a memory, an image, a line of dialogue you knew you needed to write)? Lea always loved The Wizard of Oz… and although the story isn’t the same, there are lots of little hints. There’s also a few locations in the book that sprang from real life, so we are excited to see if readers can pick them out. Are there any modern or classic novelists that inspire your writing, if so, in what way? We both love romance, but we each have our own little vices. Mel enjoys sweet dirty books from new authors that keep their stories safe… but her long term favorites are Maya Banks, Laurann Dohner, and JS Scott. Lea reads a lot of suspense, and is hooked on Angela Marsons currently. But her greatest love will always be JK Rowling. Miles Osbourne perfectly treads the line between controlling alpha and vulnerable romantic, was it difficult to find the right balance for his character? We think that writing as a team makes this a lot easier. Because where one of us might go too far, the other helps us reel it in. And the other way is the same too. If he’s being too weak or not pushing enough there’s an extra set of eyes to catch it. Did any of the characters surprise you when you were drafting the novel? Paige surprised us the most. What started out as a loveable side character with not a lot of story turned into a tornado. We never expected to find out so much about Paige, and then for her to receive her own book. It was a shock for the both of us to grow so attached to her, while writing about Oz and Mallory. Will we be hearing more about Paige and Ryan (aka Captain America)? *crosses fingers* YES YES YES!!!! Their book, His Alone, will be out March 28th. You’ll find out about their secret pasts, and see where their journey leads. It’s a stand-alone, and we think readers will absolutely love it. Without spoiling anything, was there any scene that was particularly challenging to write? One that was especially fun? We had very little challenges with this book. It came so easy, and it was incredibly exciting to write. We have a few scenes that will always be close to our hearts…. But the first time they meet will always be special. And we think our readers will feel the same way.
