ADD TO GOODREADS:
Priscilla Story, the self-proclaimed “wild child” of the straight-laced Story clan, has always had a knack for getting herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing problem” is going to require a Daddy sooner than later…or she can kiss her inheritance good-bye.
Shane Olson, who previously dated Priscilla’s sister, Margaret, isn’t opposed to a marriage of convenience for the sake of furthering his business interests, but Priscilla – with her wild ways – is just about the last woman he’d choose to marry.
In order to make the marriage look convincing, they end up having to spend more time together than they’d originally planned. When rolling stone, Priscilla, who lives by the seat of her muu-muu, and seriously-ambitious Shane, who’s had his whole life planned since he was eleven, start falling for each other, it’s going to take a whole lot of compromise for this Bohemian and her Businessman to find their happily ever after.

Author Katy Regnery returns to the families of Blueberry Lane with the start of her sub-series about the five Story sisters. Second oldest daughter Margaret already found her happy ending in Crazy About Cameron (Winslow Brothers #3), a story that overlaps with events in The Bohemian and the Businessman. Each novel stands on its own, but it’s fun to read about what’s going on “behind the scenes.”
The Bohemian and the Businessman is an absolute joy from start to finish! Poor Priscilla returns home from France to a dysfunctional family, led by her positively dreadful misogynistic asshat of a father, with a secret — one that’s about to start showing in a few months. Knowing her ultra-conservative father would disown her, Pris finds a solution in her sister’s jilted ex, Shane Olsen. Just to be clear, Margaret and Shane had zero chemistry or feelings for each other beyond professional respect, while Shane and Pros have always sparked. On the fast track to CEO of Story Imports, Shane has no time for sparks. Yet, when Priscilla needs a husband and Shane finds he needs a to marry a Story sister to achieve a promotion, a marriage of convenience is born.
And I LOVE when marriages of convenience turn inconvenient — especially when sizzling hot chemistry and genuine affection get in the way. Pris and Shane are open and honest with each other throughout their journey, sometimes telling each other things they don’t want to hear. Friendship and respect develop organically, avoiding the pitfalls forced pacing.
Dialogue and character development remain a highlight of Katy Regnery’s writing. The Bohemian and the Businessman introduces intriguing three-dimensional secondary characters, setting up the complicated Story family nicely for future books.
Simply out, I love Katy’s Regnery’s books! If her work is new to you, The Bohemian and the Businessman is an excellent place to start to explore this talented writer. For experienced Katy readers, she’s on the top of her game here, bringing to life beautiful story of acceptance and trust.
